OBITUARY

MRS D. O’CONNOR The death has occurred of a resident of Te Kowhai for 30 years, Mrs Jane O’Connor, wife of Mr D. O’Connor. Mrs O’Connor was born on board the ship Auckland in the Bay of Biscay on the way to New Zealand in 1872. She lived in the Wairarapa district with her parents for a number of years, and later with her grandmother in Rangariri. She was married at Ngaruawahia to Mr Dan O’Connor, of that town, in 1389. They resided at Thames for many years and later at Ngaruawahia. Mrs O’Connor is survived by her husband, two sons and six daughters. One daughter died about six years ago and one son was killed at Messines in 1917. There are 30 grandchildren and two greatgrandchild
