SEVERE FROST
16.3 DEGREES AT RI'AKURA HAMILTON RECORDS 11 DEGREES The most severe frost this year, and the second heaviest ever recorded at Ruakura, was the 16.3 degrees experienced there this morning. The heaviest frost occurred in August, 1929. when 16.4 degrees was the reading. The Hamilton frost recording was 11 degrees. 1 degree less than last Tuesday morning, which saw the heaviest frost of the year. The highest recording in Hamilton was 16.4 degrees in August, 1929. Trees, scrubs and pastures wore a chilly, white mantle, water taps as well as drinking troughs were frozen. A sunny day, however, made outdoor conditions very pleasant after the air had been warmed. Frosts since last Friday at Ruakura and Hamilton are showm as follows:
