A young South London couple were married recently at St. Barnabas’ Church, Deptford, without a word being spoken, states an overseas exchange. They were Thomas Kite, aged 32, of Rotherhithe, and 27-year-old Miss Elizabeth Morton, of Feekham, both deaf mutes. The service was conducted entirely in the sign language. The bride’s parents, who are also deaf and dumb, acted as witnesses.
