Gimme a bit of good old imported. None of your Colonial muck for yours truly.” “ Rightho! ” said the tobacconist as he filled the order. He seemed to be amused. Next week that new chum dropped in again with “ Bit of orlright that bacca I had off you the other day. Best I’ve sampled since leaving London. What is it? ” “ Colonial muck I think you called it,” laughed the tobacconist. “New Zealand’s ‘toasted.* There’s five brands, Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), Cavendish, Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead), Riverhead Gold and Desert Gold, and I sell more of them than anything else.” Mr Newchum looked rather foolish. “ Well,” he said, “ I sure made a bloomer! Gimme half-a-pound of the same again.” “We live and learn,” said the tobacconist, as he took the money. But he was smiling again.
