BURGLAR ACTIVE
HOUSE RANSACKED OCCUPANTS OUT FOR EVENING Gaining entrance through smashing a fanlight window, an intruder thoroughly ransacked the house of Mr W. Glover, of Firth Street, Hamilton East. The occupants were out for the evening at the time of the burglary, and the thief apparently took some time to conduct a thorough search. From a box in one room a halfsovereign and four Canberra sovereigns were stolen, and from another box in the same room four New Zealand Centennial half-crowns were taken. In another room a box containing 8s in silver was rifled, but a silver dollar and a dollar note were left untouched. Although the house was thoroughly ransacked no damage was done to fittings. The police are making investigations.
