CHURCH MAGAZINE
PUBLICATION TO GO ON FINAL BUSINESS AT SYNOD A proposal that the publication of the Waikato Diocesan Magazine should be discontinued was placed before the annual Synod of the Diocese in Hamilton yesterday by Mr H. A. Swarbrick, of Te Awamutu. After a lengthy discussion the proposal lapsed as, after a division of the House, it was decided not to proceed with the discussion. During the discussion many appreciative remarks regarding the magazine and the editor, the Rev. C. W. Chandler, of Cambridge, were made. The standing committee was recommended to secure full information on the system in operation in the Auckland diocese for financing tne replacement of cars by the clergy, with a view to instituting a similar system in the Waikato. Several resolutions of sympathy with members ol Synod in recent bereavement or illness were passed.
