HAMILTON GROUP MEETS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR A very successful year was indicated by the president, Mr A. E. McDonald, in his report on the year’s operations to the annual meeting of the Hamilton Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs Group. Some clubs had fallen back, said Mr McDonald, but a pleasing feature was that some of the smaller clubs, on the other hand, had advanced. A particularly fine display had been arranged by the 'i’e Pahu Club, its field day being a splendid success. The entries at the last Waikato Summer Show had been most satisfactory and the judges had congratulated the executive on the improvement in the quality of the entries. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. E. McDonald; vice-president, Mr H. C. Wallace; secretary, Mr W. L. Ranstead; auditor, Mr L. CAMBRIDGE YARDING The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their Cambridge stock sale on Monday a good yarding of beef cattle was penned and sold well, while store and boner cattle showed little alteration on late rates. A medium yarding of average quality cattle met rair competition at values unchanged on recent sales. A small yarding of fat lambs sold readily at prices up to recent quotations. A light yarding or pigs came forward, the entry comprising mainly store and light porker pigs. Bidding for these was keen and values were fully up to recent rates. A good entry of sows In pig maintained late ruling rates. The herd came forward In good condition and was keenly competed for by a representative attendance of buyers. The 412 cows realised the satisfactory average or £9 3s. The line or 16 springing and well-grown Jersey-Ayrshire heirers elicited very keen bidding and averaged £lO 17s 6d Realisations were: Spring Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, £lO 5 s to £11; August oalvers, £9 5s to £10; later calvers. £8 tn £9; choice well-grown springing Jersey and Ayrshire heifers, £l2 10s to £l3 10s; others, £lO 10s to £l-2; more backward, £6 los; well-grown Jersey calves. £4 10s to £4 V2s ed: smaller, £3 10S; three-year pedigree Ayrshire bull, 18gns.
