AUCKLAND BEAT WAIKATO MARGIN OF SIX POINTS In an attractive exhibition of Rugby at Rugby Park yesterday afternoon Auckland jockeys defeated Waikato jockeys by nine points to three. The game was evenly contested but the ability of the visitors to take better advantage of opportunities afforded enabled them to add six points in the second half. Auckland’s first points came from a free kick from a handy position early in the first spell, Waikato evening the score early in the second half, when JM. Amunsden went across to cap a concerted movement. J. Hearn added to Auckland’s tally and F. E. Baker, one of the visitors’ mainstays in several attacking movements, repeated the measure in the closing stages, to make the final score 9—3 in Auckland’s favour. The teams were: Auckland.—G.
