NEW MOVEMENT PLANNED ANGLICAN SYNOD DECISION Plans for the development of the youth movement in the Waikato Diocese, to encourage fellowship and Christian ideals among young people, were discussed at the annual Synod of the Waikato Diocese in Hamilton yesterday. It was decided on the proposal of the Rev. J. D. Raines (Ngaruawahia) that Synod should set aside a special Youth Sunday each year, with the object of fostering the ideals of unity and fellowship in the youth of the church in the corporate life of the parish. A proposal that a central fund to finance the inauguration of the movement be established by means of special collections was withdrawn. Mr H. G. Coombes (Frankton' 1 strongly advocated action being take . with a view to encouraging the youth to take an interest in church work, and on his motion a committee comprising the Rev. V. A Bianchi (Frankton) and the Rev. J. D. Raines (Ngaruawahia) was set up, with power to add, to inaugurate the youth movement.
