WOMAN KILLED IN HOME GREAT DAMAGE REPORTED HEAVY FLOODS EXPECTED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received April 8, 1.35 p.m.) BRISBANE, April 8 A woman was killed, great damage was done, and communications failed when a cyclone which had been operating off the Queensland coast for the last few days crossed the coast near Townsville. Terrific rains came with the cyclone and major floods are expected.
The woman was killed when a slab of masonry fell from a fireplace in her home.
