RIOT IN SYDNEY

ANGRY SERVICE MEN OPPOSED TO COMMUNISM ATTACK IN THE DOMAIN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright; (Received April 8, 1.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 8 An angry demonstration occurred outside the Communist Party rooms in the city last night, when about 1000 people, including large numbers of soldiers, sailors and air force men, attempted to storm the building. The police, standing shoulder to shoulder across the doorway, prevented the soldiers, sailors and air force men from entering. Stones were thrown at the lighted windows. Those people in the building later filed out under the protection of the police and members of the Provost Corps. The demonstration appeared to be the culmination of the anti-Com-munist feeling which first became evident at the Domain yesterday afternoon. Six men, alleged to be Communists, were attacked by soldiers after a meeting in the domain. Banners were seized and burned. A soldier who was alleged to have been attacked with a hammer was admitted to hospital. No arrests were made. COMMUNISTS DISPERSED DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON (Unlfpfl Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received April 8, 1.40 p.m.) LONDON, April 7 The police dispersed 1500 Communists who, after a meeting in Hyde Park, marched to the French Embassy shouting: “Release the French Deputies!”
