INTEREST-FREE LOANS
AGGREGATE NOW £1,559,294 £IOOO FROM HAMILTON FIRM . (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday The Hon. W. Nash, the Minister of Finance announced today that the following further interest-free loans and donations have been received, bringing the total to £1,559,294. Anchor Shipping and Foundry Co., Ltd., Nelson, £SOOO (for the duration of the war). Messrs G. E. Clark and Sons, Ltd., Hamilton, £IOOO (duration and twelve months thereafter). Mr A. B. Glen, Greymouth, £SOO (duration and six months). Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club Ashhurst, £250 (duration and twelve months). Miss E. M. Cooper, Rotorua, £IOO (duration). Old-Age Pensioner’s Gift Mr Nash said a donation of £lO as a free gift to the Government had been received from two old-age pensioners of Christchurch. This old gentleman and his wife in their letter said: “We are only old-age pensioners. The amount is not much, but we hope you will consider it in the spirit in which- it is given, because we think everybody should do their utmost for our great little country.”
