REFUGEES’ CLOTHING

WAIKATO DONATIONS HELD UP FOR MONTHS In several towns in the Waikato there has been great activity in recent months collecting clothing for war refugees in Europe. Concern, however, is felt because much of the clothing is lying in store. At Te Aroha, for instance, boxes of clothing have been lying in the town for about three months and two overseas boats had been missed. Taumarunui has three cases awaiting despatch while there is a considerable quantity in Hamilton. Dr. W. R. Fea, chairman of the Waikato centre of the Red Cross, said at last night’s meeting that several communications had been sent to headquarters in Wellington regarding the clothing but instructions were still awaited.
