WANGANUI UNION’S PLANS POSTPONING RANFURLY SHIELD (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WANGANUI, Thursday The management committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union is to recommend to the annual meeting that Ranfurly Shield fixtures be discontinued during the war. Wanganui, however, favours the continuance of ordinary inter-provincial fixtures and is prepared to fulfil its annual engagements with Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu and King Country.
