During the week-end the Frankj ton Bowling Club held a singles I competition to find the four players 'to represent the club in the Jacob j Wright competition. Twenty play- : ers took part, and C. Petersen was [ the only one to go through with ! two lives intact. H. Morris, W. i Payne and R. Hollinger were the j other successful players. Games 'were played over 21 heads, and the following were the results:— First Round.—Payne 18 v. Samson 17; Morris 19 v. Wilson 12; Petersen 19 v. Green 15; Connew 21 v. I Quintall 13; Bridges 18 v. Judge 11; 'Alker 17 v. Whineray 9; Childs 22 v. Rendle 14; Beagley 17 v. Hollinger 16; McGloin, Exelby, Millar and Forster, byes. Second Round.—Samson 21 v. Wilson 8; Quintall 22 v. Beagley, byes. Wilson, Green, Rendle and Whineray were eliminated. Third Round.—Samson 11 v. Quintall 21; Hollinger 16 v. Judge 14; Exelby 21 v. Bridges 16; Forster 23 v. McGloin 11; Alker 18 v. Beagley 11; Childs 22 v. Miliar 15; Morris 18 v. Payne 15; Petersen 17 v. Connew : 16. Samson, Judge, Bridges and McGloin were eliminated. Fourth Round.—Hollinger 18 v. Quintall 16; Forster 15 v. Exelby 14; Beagley 25 v. Millar 13; Payne 17 j v. Connew 15; Childs 15 v. Alker 12; Petersen 17 v. Morris 14. Exelby, Millar, Quintall and Connew were eliminated. Fifth Round.—Hollinger 17 v. For'ster 14; Payne 19 v. Beagley 16: Morris 19 v. Alker 13; Childs 10 v. Petersen 17. Forster, Beagley and j Alker were eliminated. Petersen i qualified. 1 Sixth Round.—Morris 17 v. Holj linger 10; Payne 18 v. Childs 16. : Morris and Payne qualified. Seventh Round.—Hollinger 15 v. Childs 10. Hollinger qualified.
