TE RAPA FASHIONS

WAIKATO RACING CLUB ALL SHADES OF BLUE WORN ' I Although the weather of the first day of the Waikato Racing Club’s summer meeting held at Te Rapa on ; Saturday was not exactly of a temperature to be expected in February, the general effect of the frocking was bright and colourful, as well as being suitable for the occasion. Blue in all shades undoubtedly predominated in the colour scheme. ; Many interesting versions of pre- ; vailing fashions were carried out in this colour, mostly in decided tailored styles with soft relieving touches at neck and sleeves. Many shades of this tone included the popular cadet and lagoon-blue and when deftly combined with fuchsia or cyclamen, were happy choices. Pink, too, was largely favoured and black and navy ensembles were plentifully in evi- j dence among the colourful array and were, as usual, characterised by smart accessories, such as veiled hats and luxurious furs. Hats represented the latest ideas in millinery and were more elaborate and modish than for some time past.
