MATAMATA FUNCTION
KITCHEN EVENING A kitchen evening was recently tendered Miss Ena Landells, of Peria, Matamata, in honour of her approaching marriage to Mr S. Gardiner. The function took place in the Matamata Fire Brigade Hall, and was attended by a large number of young people. During the evening, Mr H. Summerville, on behalf of those present, invited the guest-of-honour to open her many parcels, and wished her and her fiance every happiness in the future. Mr Gardiner suitably responded. Much appreciated songs were rendered by Miss Hilda Watson and Mr Pat Munro.
Among those present were:—Mesdames J. Landells, H. Summerville, W. Carroll, A. McLeay, Griffin, Holloway, A. Symes, J. Malligan, Kevin Fitzgerald, J. Swap, Roy White.
Misses Jean Lowry, Mona Molesworth, Betty Whitworth, Hilda Watson, May Tims, Marjorie Simpson.
