The streets were patrolled, and pedestrians were not allowed to congregate outside the prison. The Birmingham authorities have received threats of trouble if the executions aie carried out. Mr Tom Barry, the former Republican leader, telegraphed to Mr De Valera to request the British Government to delay the execution to enable the presentation of “conclusive proof of the condemned men's innocence."
