CHRISTIAN FRONT INDICTED 17 MEMBERS TO BE TRIED (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 8. 12.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 Seventeen members of the Christian Front have been indicted before the Federal Grand Jury on charges of seditious conspiracy and conspiracy to commit offences against the Government. Last month the Chief of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mr J. Edgar Hoover, announced that 18 members of the “Christian Front” have been arrested on charges of conspiracy to create a revolution, overthrow the Government and establish a dictatorship. Mr Hoover said his investigators (G-men) had unearthed a “small arsenal” in New York City intended lor revolutionary purposes. Those arrested functioned as members of a "sports club.” Mr Hoover described the club as a secret c rganisalion which specialised in training men for the projected revolution and in stealing arms from the defence forces.
