The Governor-General, Viscount Galway returned to Auckland from the Centennial celebrations at Waitangi by the Government steamer Matai yesterday. The Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, was in Hamilton last night. Mr H. D. Caro, Mayor of Hamilton, is visiting Auckland. The Hon. J. Cotter, M.L.C., of Hinuera, is visiting Auckland. Major-General J. E. Duigan, Chief of the General Staff, was in Hamilton last night. Messrs E. St.C. Haydon (Palmerston North), F. W. Yates (Auck- ; land) and A. G. Strang (Putaruru) ! are at the Hamilton Hotel. Drs. J.
