AT THE STUD NOBLE ANCHOR Noble Anchor (Dunure Footprint— Harviestoun Ann-a) is standing the season at the Surreydale Stud, Te Awamutu. This horse is of exceptional quality, being by the best breeding sire in the history of the Clydesdale, the famous Dunure Footprint, the service fee of which was £l2O. Dunure Footprint headed the list of winning sires from 1915 to 1927; also Cawdor Cup winner from 1909 to 191-3. His son Noble Anchor has also a good record, being placed third in a class of 19 at the Glasgow Stallion Show, 193-6, and in a Held of 31 he was champion at Dunedin Stallion Show, 1938; also winning the Donald Reid Perpetual Challenge Shield and the Wright Stephenson Challenge Cup—a remarkable achievement which places him in the highest awards in this Dominion.
