RISE IN FRANKTON VALUES BL£T PRICES FOR YEAR An exceptionally buoyant market was experienced at the Frankton saleyards today when top prices in all sections were the best since last year. Beef was in particularly keen request, and a top price of £ls 5s was paid l'or a pair of bullocks, which was an exceptionally good price for this time of year. Best cows and heifers were at least one pound per head better than last week. Fat sheep also sold readily and the top price of tiie early sales of 30s 3d was the highest for over a year. A short entry of fat pigs met an animated market, with haconers realising from Gss to 86s per head, the best values realised at tiie yards for some considerable time. Quotations: — Heavy prime steers. £l4 to £ls ss; medium. £l2 to £l3; lighter, £lO 2s 5d to £11; small, £8 to £8 17s; heavy prime cows and heifers, £9 to £ll 10s; prime, £7 to £8 7s fid: fat, £3 to £6 17s; light, £3 7s to £i 15s. Sheep: Extra prime wethers, 27s to 30s 3d. Fat Pigs: Baconers, Gss to SGs; porkers, 53s to 635.
