ASSAULTED WITH AXE
ATTACK ON WOMAN SENSATION IN NORTH HUSBAND LATER ARRESTED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) DARGAVILLE, Tuesday A sensation was created when a Te Kopuru woman was violently attacked with an axe and received severe gashes to the head. Site was removed to the Northern Wairoa hospital before noon. The full extent of her injuries is not available. The police are continuing their investigations. The victim was Beryl Hazel Winters. The police arrested her husband, Harold Winters, aged 52 years, on a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
