1940 SHOW DATES
MORRINSVILLE FIXTURE (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The date of the Morrinsville A. and P. Society's 1940 show lias been under discussion for some time. At a meeting of tlie cominitte-e of the society this week it was decided to ask the Northern District Council of the Royal Agricultural Society for February 27 and 28. As these days are the Tuesday and Wednesday following the Auckland Metropolitan Show, which concludes the previous Saturday, there is some doubt as lo whether they will be suitable for exhibitors. The A. and P. Society has appointed a sub-committee to confer with the Morrinsville Centennial Committee with a view to deciding on the programme for the Centennial celebrations. Presentation to Mr C. S. Leggett Mr C. S. Leggett, who has sold his farm near Morrinsville and will reside in Auckland in future, was farewelied by members of the Morrinsville A. and j P. Society this week, and was pre- | sented with a mantelpiece clock as a I token of appreciation of his services j as a member of the executive since the j society was formed 21 years ago. in j making the presentation, the president. 1 Mr W. J. Aitken, expressed the hope 1 that Mr Leggett would continue to j take an interest in the Morrinsville show. Mr Leggett returned thanks and intimated that lie would remain on lhe executive of lhe sociely and would give a hand at ihe next show. Mr Leggett is llm only member of The present executive who lias a record of continuous service since lhe inception of the society
