Mr J. Holland, of Motueka, is visiting Hamilton. Mr N. J. Dolamore, conservator of Slate forests for Otago and Southland, who lias been appointed State forests utilisation officer in Rotorua, has left Invercargill to take up his new duties. Messrs 11. G. Mills (New Plymouth), C. C. Smith (Napier; - A. Smith, J. Taylor, H. Stacey, G. Clifford Auckland, , S. McKay (Mastcrton;, G. Mitchell Palmerston North; and F. Mills (Hawera), are at the Hamilton Hotel. Messrs C. Heighton (Wanganui), C. H. Jones (Hawera), J. Sherrin, T. Richards (Wellington . 11. Rainey, J. Gubb, J. 11. Mason Helensville,, W. Rogers (Auckland) and W. Fairbrother Palmerston North) are at the Hotel Midland. Mr W. J. Noble (Otago Daily Times), vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, was elected chairman at the annual meeting of members of the gallery. Mr H. Oakley Browne 'Auckland Star; was appointed vice-chairman. Mr Roy Lowdnes, a young New Zealander, has been selected by the Clapham Conservative Association its Parliamentary candidate for the general election in November. Mr Lowndes has been nominated in succession to Sir John Leigh, who is not seeking reelection.
