STOWAWAYS ON AWATEA (By TPlperamv—Props Association) WELLINGTON, We dnesday Two stowaways from the Awatea were dealt with to-day, each being sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment with hard labour, one, aged 18, was described as a labourer and seaman, and the other, aged 20, as a labourer. Both stowed away at Auckland and were not allowed to land at Sydney, although one managed to escape. He was captured near the railway station and taken back to the ship.
