FAREWELL EVENING

CHURCH WORKER AT CAMBRIDGE Members of the Mothers’ Union and the Ladies' Guild of St. Andrew's Church at Cambridge, arranged a farewell evening recently for one of their members, Mrs W. Haworth, who is leaving on a visit to England. The rooms at the Vicarage, where the function was held, were effectively decorated with vases of autumn-shaded zinnias and dahlias.

Several competitions were arranged, winners being Mrs J. C. Sawers, Mrs Missen and Miss Joan Couper. Mrs Wylde entertained with several vocal solos. During the evening Mrs Chandler, president of the Mothers’ Union, presented Mrs Haworth with a beautiful travelling rug as an appreciation of her great help in church activities.

Mrs Chandler was wearing a gown of black ring velvet and the guest-of-honour -wore a frock of black chiffon.
