MATAMATA GUN CLUB W. MCLEAN EXCELS (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Monday The Matamata Gun Club held an open -hoot during the week-end, when large number; of visiting shooters competed. The main event, a £SO handicap match, was a triumph for the local club, two members or which <E. Green and W. Me-L-ur.. were the only ones to score the possible. KIA ORA GUN CLUB The K!a Ora Gun Club held a «boot at the week-end, which was well attended. A feature of the afternoon’s sport was thp number of first barrel birds shot in the gold watch trophy shoot, the winner T Hall, of Te Awamutu, gamed 31 out of 33 first-barrel birds and the second trophy winner, s. Otway, gained 29. Following are the results:— Six-bird Eveopener.—T. Hall (14vds) shot the posible: E. Duncan (14yds) "and T. Henry (16yds) shot five birds and divided. 15 Birds. £lO Shoot (17 shooters).—E. Duncan (13yds). Doug. Mitchell (12yds), E. Bogun (12yds), L. Zimmerman" (12 yds) each shot the possible and divided, Duncan. Mitchell. Zimmerman all gaining first-barrel possible. 15 Bird Match, for £5 gold watch trophy. —T. Hall (13yds), S.
