CLIFTON FIELDS

Another good price was recorded when Spearford finished in solid style to win rrom Hessketoon who, after attempting to win from end to end just failed to see out the distance. Eastern Heir had every chance and was not disgraced in finishing practically in line with the other two placed horses. Hessketoon made the early pace from Eastern Heir and Vitement. Hessketoon and Eastern Heir were showing out along the back rrom Spearrord, Vitement, Loyal Grant, Aero Queen. Vaalso and Mlo Frotollo. Racing to the hair-mile, Hessketoon still held the running and led Into the straight rrom Eastern Heir, vaalso, Spearrord, Vitement and Pocket Venus. In a good finish, in which the placed horses flashed past the post practically in line, Spearrord won the verdict by a neck over Hessketoon with Eastern Heir hair a head away third. As on opening day. Gay Seton was finishing on while Pirate King was making up ground over the last hair-mile. Day Wind and Gay Seton were the first to become prominent but valimeen hit the front at the half-mile to lead rrom Kathbella, Gay Seton, Orwere. Triune. Pirate King and Calorie.
