HARVESTERS’ DANCE

HAPPY MATANGI FUNCTION The Matangi Hall was thronged with dancers recently, when a delightful harvesters’ dance was held. The hall was gaily decorated with multi-colour-ed streamers and clusters of bright

balloons were suspended from the ceiling. The distribution of streamers and novelties added to the festive spirit and contributed to the success of the dance. Novelty dances were won by Miss B. Lee and Mr M. Milne and Miss W. Ranstead and Mr R. Ranstead. The music was supplied by Clayton's Orchestra and extras by Mr W. Dingle were much appreciated. Mr J. Turner acted as M.C. De Luca, floral ninon; Fox Hamilton), navy spotted marocain; W. Webster (Hamilton), floral ninon; S. Lovelock, silver satin beaute; R. Woods, cameo pink georgette; McLeod (Te Awamutu), jade green crepe Glamis; Melva Shaw, spindleberry taffeta; G. Middlemiss, flowered dimity; R. De Luca, apple green slipper satin; N.
