DINNER PARTY
MISS JOAN CLEPHANE’S BIRTHDAY To celebrate the coming-of-age of her daughter, Joan, Mrs McL. T. Clephane was hostess recently at a dinner party at the Hamilton Hotel. Following dinner the guests were entertained at the cinema, after which they were invited to supper at Mrs Ciephane’s residence, Somerset Street, where a jolly time was spent, the customary speeches heing made and the traditional key presented to the guest-ol-honour. Mrs Clephane was wearing a navy blue frock and coatee of sequins, and Miss Joan Clephane's dress was of white patterned lime green organdi over which she wore a little bolero. The guests were:—Mesdames W. Gordon, J. R. Thomson (Glen Massey), F. D. Pinfold, A. Miller, M. Rawlings, Weymouth. Misses M. Ramsey (Auckland), Cecil Gaze, Joyce Lewis (Cambridge), Jocelyn Rush (Cambridge), Vivi Clephane, Joan Lock, Ima Thomson (Glen Massey), Margaret Johnston, Hilda Clough, Jean Mason, Betty Pinfold, Joan Pinfold.
