TOWN HALL AS THEATRE RUMOUR OF NEGOTIATIONS Rumours that negotiations had taken place fop the use of Hamilton's new town hall for film shows were referred to in a letter received from the Department of Internal Affairs at the Hamilton Borough Council’s meeting last evening. “It is noted from Press references.” the letter began, “that your council proposes to erect a town hall in Hamilton, and I have been informed that J some negotiations have taken place j with regard to the use of this building for picture-theatre exhibitions. While it is possible that this latter information is only rumour, I thought, it advisable to send for your information a copy of the Cinematograph Films Issue of Exhibitors’ Licenses Regulations, li*37. from which you will notice that the issue of an exhibitor’s license under the Cinematograph Films Act is subject to investigation under these regulations.
