WEDDINGS

NORMAN—BLADE IVORY SATIN GOWN A quiet but pretty wedding took place in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, on Thursday morning, December 22, when Edith Lucilla Emery Blade, of Hamilton, was married to Ivan Francis, third son of Mr and Mrs J. F. Norman, of Dominion Road, Papakura. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert was the officiating minister. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr W. Blade, wore a lovely gown of ivory satin fashioned with a softly shirred bodice, the Vshaped neckline being linished with a spray of orange blossom. At the back tiny satin buttons extended from neckline to waist. The long sleeves, which were tight-fitting from the elbow to a point over the hand, were also adorned with tiny satin buttons. The full panelled skirt fell in a graceful scalloped traij, a second train being formed by her exquisitely embroidered tulle veil, which was caught to the head by a coronet of orange blossom and lilies. She carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. She was attended by Miss Florence Hazelton, of Waihou, and Miss Ida Blade, sister of the bride, as bridesmaids. They were frocked alike in gowns of pink taffeta, the full skirts of which were finished with three wide frills. Frills also formed the sleeves, and the waistline was defined by sashes tied in large bows at the back.
