SENIOR APPOINTMENTS POST FOR COLONEL MEAD NEW NORTHERN COMMANDANT (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Several senior appointments in the New Zealand Military Forces following the retirement of Colonel I. T. Standlsh, were announced to-day by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. Colonel Standish is to relinquish his appointment on Saturday as officer commanding the central military district, Wellington, and the new appointments are to take effect from January i. Colonel E. Puttiek is to relinquish the appointment of adjutant and quart-ermaster-general and second military member of the Army Board. lie has been appointed officer commanding the central military district, Wellington. Lieutenant-Colonel temporary colonel O. 11. Mead is to relinquish the appointment of officer commanding the northern military district. He hns been appointed adjutant and quarter-master-general and second military member of the Army Board and retains the temporary rank of colonel while so employed. / Lieutenant-Colonel N. W. McD. Weir is to relinquish the appointment of general staff officer, northern military district, end is appointed officer commanding the northern military district, Auckland. He is to retain the temporary rank of colonel while so employed. Major L. Potter is to relinquish the appointment of commandant of the central military district school of instruction. Trentham, and is appointed general staff officer, northern military district, Auckland. He is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel while so employed.
