PETITION FOR DIVORCE
FILM ACTRESS AND DRAMATIBT ALLEGATIONS BY LUISE RAINER AN UNGOVERNABLE TEMPER United Press Assn.—Elec. T<.. Copyright. HOLLYWOOD. June 9 The film actress Lui6e Rainer has filed a suit for divorce from her husband Clifford Odets. She complains that the latter insisted that she should give up her career, which she was not willing to do. She described Odets’ temper as ungovernable and said he was given to provoking quarrels over trivial matters. "I have the greatest admiration for Mr Odets,said the actress, “hut our differences make it. impossible for us to continue together." Luise Rainer was seen in “The Good Earth” for which she received the Academy Award) and other films. Clifford Odets is the author of •Waiting for Lefty” and other thought-compelling plays.
