MARIST BROTHERS ANNUAL FIXTURE DECIDED ' . EXCELLENT ENTRIES IN EVENTS Close finishes, keenness and-enthusi-asm characterised the annual 6ports meeting of the Marist Brothers’ High School held under ideal conditionh on Wednesday on Steele Park The jumping events having been previously decided, the gathering at Steele Park was confined to sprint and distance events. A pleasing feature of the meeting was they participation of practically every pupil in the school, in the events of one or other of the three divisions —senior, intermediate or junior—in which contestants were grouped. The finalising of cup winners in the intermediate and junior sections will not be possible till after the annual road race to. take place later in the term. At present Paul Jones is leading in the intermediate section and Algar O'Brien in the junior. In the senior section, however, Noel Fuller has such a substantial lead in cup points, that, irrespective of the result of the road race, his position as senior champion is assured.
