FRUITLESS SEARCH
ESCAPEE FROM WAIKERIA NET BEING WIDENED The search for the Waikeria prison camp escapee, Richard Jackson Ruff Moyle (27), extended over a wider area last night and developments occurred as fdr away from the camp as Cambridge, where police searched the Whitehall district checking a report which suggested that the prisoner was in that locality. Constable C. H. Maisey scoured the Whitehall territory and found a man who, although greatly resembling Moyle in appearance, was not the missing prisoner. However, the man found at Whitehall was charged in the Cambridge Court today, with being idle and disorderly. At Parawera, where the escaped prisoner was last seen, search parties operated throughout last night but all efforts of both police and warders proved fruitless. The superintendent of the Waikeria camp, Mr D. Dunlop, intimated to-day that the search for Moyle was being extended to cover a wider area,. Further patrols would be operating throughout to-day. Moyle has now been at large for over four days.
