The bidding was , animated throughout the' sale and ; values for flock entries ruled from ii gns to ISA gns over the early sales. A small entry of stud rams was In l exceptionally keen request. One out- . standing sort from Mr F. Gibbison of Kauroa, attracted keen attention and [ eventually sold to the bid of Mr C. . Mathews of Hamilton at 60 gns. The i same vendor also obtained the top ; figure of ISA gns for flocks, the buyer C being Mr E. M. Edkins, of Te Aroha. 1 Close on a 1,000 rams were on offer 1 but the size of the' entry was no dei terrent to competition and compari- ’ tively few lines were passed. 1 Best flock rams sold from 12 gns to 18$ gns; medium from 8 gns to ; 7 gns, and more inferior sorts from * 8 gns to 7 gns. 1 The sale was conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile 1 Agency Company Ltd. Messrs Dalgety and Company Ltd., and the Farmers’ Co-Operative Auctioneering Company Ltd.
