GIFT EVENING
FUNCTION AT NQARUA The Xsrarua hall was the scene nf a bright and happy function recently, the occasion being a gift evening: tendered Miss .Toy Hobart and Mr Jack Lamb who are shortly to be married. There was a large attendance during the evening'. The stage had been decorated with flowers and the initials of the guests were depicted on the front of the siftladen table. The evening was spent with oldtime and modern dancing to music played by Mr K. Staiger -Walton', extras being given by Mr M. Donovan. During the supper interval the guests-of-honour were asked to accept the many beautiful gifts as a token of esteem. Mr T. C. Carter, chairman for the evening, on behalf of the local tennis club, of which the guests are members, presented them with a silver entree dish. Miss J. Hayward also presented Miss Hobart with a beautiful bouquet of autumn flowers. Tn responding. Mr Lamb returned thanks. Miss Hobart also suitably replied. Musical honours were iccorded them. Dancing was continued. Messrs N. Lugtun and C. Tea/, were M.C.’s. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought to a close a very pleasant evening.
