FAREWELL FUNCTIONS
COCKTAIL PARTY IN HONOUR OF MRS BURTENSHAW Mrs \V. J. King entertained at a delightful cocktail party at her home in Ulster Street Inst evening in honour of Mrs T. A. Burtenshaw, who will leave shortly on a tour abroad. Lovely howls of zinnias in autumn shades had been arranged in the rooms. To receive her guests Mrs King wore a gown of navy floral georgette, Mrs Burtenshaw wearing hlark and white net. Those present were:—Mrs E. B. Brown Auckland), Mrs R. B. Seabrook. Mrs T. G. Reynolds, Mrs Gordon Smith, Mrs N. H. Hooker, Mrs H. E. Harris, Mrs Cyril Sutcliffe, Mrs A. N. Thompson. MISS BURTENSHAW ENTERTAINED ENJOYABLE EVENING Miss Gail Burtenshaw. who will accompany her mother on a tour to England and America, was guest-of-honout- at another pleasant farewell party arranged by Miss Audrey Seddon and Miss Beth Muir and held at MisSeddon’s home in Collingwood Sttvrd on Tuesday evening. Games of ping pong were played during the evening and community singing was also enjoyed by the guests. A competition was won hv Miss Eupliie Smith and later a delicious supper was served. The rooms had been charmingly arranged with bowls of dahlias and flowers in autumn shades. The guests were received by Miss Seddon wearing a frock of floral silk and Miss Muir, whose frock was of Paisley crepe. The guest of the evening was wearing a frock of moonlight blue crepe Glamis.
