HOCKEY TOUR

INDIAN TEAM’S VIBIT A POWERFUL COMBINATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday The Matiavadar State hockey team, which is to tour New Zealaud during the coming winter, will be led by the ruling Prince of the State, according to advice received by Mr W. H. Down, secretary of the New Zealand Hockey Association. The Prince, the Nawab Gulam Moinnuddin Khan Wall-Ripasat of Manavadar, will be accompanied by his private secretary and two personal attendants. He is president of the Manavadar Hockey Association. A very powerful team should reach New Zealand in May. Contrary to earlier reports, the selection of the side will not he confined to Manavadar and the Prince himself is endeavouring to co-opt the best players in India. It is probable that several members of the -side which toured New Zealand in 1935 will be included In the team. Twenty-nine games, including three tests, will be played.
