FIELDS AT TE RAPA

FINE ACCEPTANCE LIST WOTAN HEADS HANDICAP ACCEPTANCES FOR SATURDAY Large and well-balanced fields have survived the scratching pen for the first day of the Waikato Racing Club's summer meeting at Te Rapa, on Saturday and Monday, February 19 and 21, and with material available for great betting fields the club should experience another highly successful meeting. With an average of just over 17 a race, the percentage of acceptances and nominations probably constitutes a record for the club. Neither Cuddle nor Courtcraft have accepted for the big event. Consequently the issue remains more open and a fine contest Is assured among the leading provincial talent available. The second “leg of the double,” the President's Handicap, has also attracted a most interesting field. Following are the acceptances:—
