MATAMATA BTOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Limited, report having held their Matamata stock sale yesterday, when a full yarding of all classes of sheep came forward. Competition for store lambs was keen and prices remained fully on a par with recent quotations. The advertised lines of breeding ewes evoked fair enquiry, and although passings were frequent some good sales resulted. A line of six-year ewes offered on account of Mr H. S. Wright. Taihoa, made 20s. Cattle: A full yarding, but with beef in small supply, the offering comprising chiefly fat Jersey cows for which competition was steady, values remaining on a par with late quotations. A pen of light prime Shorthorn steers offered on account of Mrs G. Livingstone. Matamata, sold under brisk competition, at late rates. A good yarding of both boner cow’s and potter bulls sold fully up to schedule rates, a total clearance resulting for all classes. Pigs: A good yarding of fats, and a medium entry of stores and weaners. Competition for heavy porkers and baconers was keen/ prices realised being on a par with recent Frankton rates. TE ANQA SHEEP VALUEB The New’ Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, report as follows on their Te Anga sheep fair held on Tuesday. A heavy yarding of sheep was offered before a large bench of buyers, the market being very bright throughout with few passings. There was a fair entry of fat wethers and these with the fat ewes and lambs were sold at rates little below those ruling at main centres. The ewe market was also good our principal sales in this section being a pen of two tooth ewes ex Mr H. Shaw which made 38s 6d; 2-tooths ex Mr Walter Shaw, 36s 8d Mr E. E. Smith 2-tooths for 34s 3d; 4-year-old ewes ex Mr E. Phillips, 30s 9d; 2tooth ewes ex the same vendor, 29s Gd; Estate H. Derecourt’s 2-tooth ewes to 33s 3d; 5-year-old ewes ex Mr J. N. Twomey, Marakopa, 22s Gd; a pen of ewes ex Mr A. M. Wright 29s 7d; 4 and 5-year-old ewes ex Mr A. M. Blake 26s 9d; several pens of ewes ex Mr P. 11. Soundy, 27s 9d; 5-year-old ewes, ex Mr Alf Brown, 245; 4-year-old ewes ex Mr J. P. Wright, a line of 300 odd, 30s 2d; 5-year-old ewes, the same vendor, 265. Store lambs were in keen demand, particularly w.f. ewe lambs ex local breeders, a pen of which from Messrs Milne Bros.. Marakopa, made 22s 7d. Mr A. M. Wright also had some nice quality! ewe lambs yarded, these realising 2ls Gd. STORE SHEEP SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their weekly sheep sale at Frankton yesterday, when a medium entry of all classes came forward. The majority of the yarding comprised of medium to good quality lambs, which sold under k*en competition at advanced late rites. Quotations were: Small white face ewe lambs, 13s Gd to 15s Gd: medium quality woolly store lambs, 1 is 6,j to IGs Id; shorn cull lambs, Pis 5d to 12s lid: black face two-tooth ewes. 23s to 24s Gd: flve and six-year ewes. 22s 9d to 2Gs; sound mouth ewes. 17s 6d to 19s 3d: aged ewes, ?s 2d to 10s Pd; 1 shear Southdown rams, 3gns to 31gns.
