ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY IMPORTANCE OF BATON PRACTICE In order to secure baton practice under competitive conditions a series of relay events will be held at Hine- , moa Park next Saturday, commencing

at 2 p.m. Field events competitors will work out at their various events. Special relay races have been arranged as follows: 2 P.M. —High Jump. 2 P.M. —Relay, 4 x 110 Yards: A Team (Goosman, Gwynne, Elliott, Denz), scratch; B Team (Garr, Roper, Row, Sayers)„ 10 yards; Junior Team (McOnie, Kelly, Buckingham, Soper), 30 yards. Other teams may be made up from available sprinters. 2.12 P.M. —Shot Putt. 2.15 P.M.—Relay, 4 x 880 yards: A Team (Trow, Sylvester, A. W. Fell, Irwin), scratch; B Team (S. TE AWAMUTU MEETING THREE FIELD EVENTS ADDED The Waikato sub-cenlre has approved the addition of shot putt, javelin and discus handicaps to the programme for the Te Awamutu Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club’s meeting on January 29. Entries close on January 15. OLD FOURTH WAIKATOS RE-UNION IN MARCH At a meeting of the executive of the Old Fourth Waikato descendants it was unanimously agreed to increase Hie value of trophies and the number of events for the annual reunion sports at Steele Park <\n March 5. I The committee have been promised support from outside talent and needI less to say the attractive trophies should be a decided draw. The principal event of the large ; programme Is the Five Miles Cycling Derby, to the value of £t>, whilst the runners are catered for by a 220 yards event, of £5.
