RAGLAN POPULAR
RECORD HOLIDAY CROWDS TOWN’S BUSY PERIOD (Times Special Reporter) RAGLAN, Wednesday Record holiday crowds have thronged Raglan during the last six weeks. Although other years have been good, during last Chirstmas and New Year vacations hundreds of visitors have been camping and enjoying the facilities which the town offers. Accommodation has been taxed to the utmost and shopkeepers report increased activity in trade. The ideal weather prevailing throughout the holidays has been an incentive for people to take the opportunity of spending a few days by the sea. Recently' the conditions have been ideal for swimming, while fishing, particularly for Rounder, is said to be better than ever. Every day the beaches are crowded with holidaymakers, while the demand for launches for fishing excursions has been animated. Although it is difficult to estimate the number of holiday makers at present visiting Raglan and adjacent beaches, it. is evident that they number hundreds Judging by the cars which come into the town during the evenings. Every effort is made to cater for visitors. Tennis courts are provided and they are being well patronised. Sunday, of course, is the most popular day for casual visits.
