HONOUR FOR AN ENGLISHMAN FIRST TO RECEIVE MEDAL United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, Jan. 3 Forty years after fighting with the Greek Foreign Legion in Thessaly, in the Greco-Turkish War, Mr Brinsley Richard, of Liverpool, has been decorated by the King of Greece with the bronze medal of the Order of King George I.
No medal was ever struck for this war. but the King, on his visit to England, made an exception in Mr Richard's favour. He is the only Englishman with this distinction. For 35 years he has been a steward with the Cunard Line.
