TRANSOCEANIC AIRCRAFT ACTIVITY IN THE PACIFIC AN APPEAL TO BRITAIN United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, January 2 The Daily Mail, in a leader, says tlit* Samoan clipper, roaring seaward, brings nearer the age prophesied by Captain Peal, retiring Commander of the Oueen Mary, when ocean liners will have to compete with Transoceanic aircraft. When Britain's Empire service joins Australia and New Zealand across the Tasman the world will be completely spanned by air. The Anglo—New Zealand negotiations to create tills last link should be hastened. There is every reason to hope that the Anglo-American cooperation in the Atlantic mail service starting during the spring will be counterparted in the Pacific. Britain must bestir herself to gain her rightful share in communications across this immense ocean, washing the shores of three great Dominions.
