HIGH RETURNS EXPECTED UTILISATION OF RAIL-CARS (Special to Times) TAURANGA, Thursday Mr G. H. Mackley, General Manager of Railways, in an interview here today expressed the opinion that this year’s returns for the railway would be the highest on record. It was anticipated that rail-cars now under construction would be on tho lines in a couple of months. Completion had been delayed owing to difficulty in obtaining material from Britain. ~ . Uf the first six cars three would oe placed on the Napier-'Wairoa service and three others on the WellingtonNew Plymouth night service. The construction of additional cars was bej ll4 r carried out as quickly as possible, and after the first six were placed in commission, it was expected that the rule ol' construction would be one car
Missing Car Found.—Yesterday afternoon a sedan car, the property of Dr. H. C. Todd, of Seppa Street, Cambridge, was taken from outside his residence, but some hours later was discovered undamaged on Carter's Fiat, on the eastern outskirt of the Borough.
