HOLIDAY PLAY LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENT* UNFAVOURABLE CONDITIONS "While frequent showers throughout the day made conditions unpleasant for bowling on the Hamilton greens yesterday, play was not held up unduly and the programmes were completed. The chief fixture was on the Hamilton Club's greens where a one day tournament drew entries from many outside as well as most of the Hamilton clubs. Despite the rain, the greens played well and an excellent day’s bowling was enjoyed by the large attendance of bowlers. Wilson’s team comprising Parkhouse, Gamble, Gall and Wilson (s) had a good win in the Hamilton Club’s tournament with a total of five wins. Pilkington's team comprising Atkins, Rowe, Hawkins, Pilkington (s) was second with 4$ wins, playing a draw* in the last round. The club tournament at the Whitiora greens was won by J. Morris’ team, comprising Gardiner. Watkins, Blunt, J. Morris (s) with a total of Cve wins, and Woodhall's team comprising Somerville, Riddell, Davey, Woodhail (s) was runner-up. Following were the concluding results : ‘Fourth round: Wilson 12 v. Yeaman 11; Evans 18 v. Kriskovich 12; Walker 13 v. Cook 11; Rockeil 14 v. Wilkinson 2; Barton 12 v. Chapman 11; Pilkir.gion 11 v. Aitken 7; White 14 v. Doyle 3. Last round: Rockeil 8 v. Evans 8; Cook 10 v. Wilkinson 6; Barnes 12 v. Morgan 11; Walker 11 v. Doyle 10; Aitken 8 v. Pile 7; White 7 v. Yeaman 7; Pilkington 10 v. Chapman 10; Wilson 19 v. Barton 3. WHITIORA TOURNAMENT Concluding results of the Whltora tourney were:— Third round: Wallace li v. Taylor 10; Downes 18 v. Lymburn 8; Elliot 14 V. Frost 13; Woodhail 12 v. Irvine 11* Crowhurst 12 v. Cliffe 6; Astle a bye. Fourth round: Woodhail 9 v. Crowhurst 7; Morris 10 v. Frost 9; Astle 15 v. Cliffe 6; Elliot 14 v. Lymburn 2; Taylor 12 v. Downes 7. Claudelands Tournament. Following was the result of the progressive tournament at the Claudelands greens:—Leads and threes, L. Wells and F. Snell; twos and skips, \ A. G. Hunter and W. Fraser (3 wins each in both cases).
