AUCKLAND TROTTING * SPRING MEETING CONCLUDES our McKinneys victory (By Tele.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Monday. Despite the dull and showery weather there was a large attendance when the Auckland Trotting Club's spring meeting was concluded at Epsom to-day. Despite the rain the track was not badly affected and the racing was of a very high standard. A feature of the meeting was the number of close and exciting finishes. The chief event of the day, the Labour Handicap, was won by the favourite, Nervie’s Last, in a very exciting finish with Gold Dredge and Our McKinney. Kulnl after leading throughout and looking likely at the turn, tired and faded out Inside the distance. Kuinl xvas the first to show out from Native Tree, Young Rodney and Audo Patch who broke slightly. Passing the stands Kuinl and Native Tree had established a lead or ten lengths on Young Rodney and Parrish Belle with the others well back. They raced In this order practically throughout and It was not until they were well into the straight that Native Tree headed Kuinl for the first time. Kuinl practically stopped inside the distance and Native Tree went on to win easily by two lengths from Young Rodney who beat Imposter by half a length. Coming rrom the rear across the top and finishing like a train, Bexley Girl gave nothing else a chance In the Campbell Handicap, when she,, defeated the favourite Chill Bean. Mocast jumped out smartly and soon established a handy lead. Passing the stands he was three lengths in front of Our McKinney who was a similar distance in front of Noble Prince with two lengths hack to Bonny Azure. Going along the back Noble Prince made a forward move and grossing the top bad a three-length advantage over Mocast. who was half a length in front of Our McKinney with Bonny Azure commencing to move up. By the time the straight was reached Bonny Azure was lying ciose behind Noble Prince with Our McKinney and Mocast together Just behind. In a great finish Bonny Azure and Noble Prince were fighting the issue out when Our McKinney came fast on the outer to win by half a length from Bonny Azure with Noble Prince a length and a hair away in rront of Mocast. The last race provided a stirring finish with Munga Tangi, arter taking the lead early, hanging on desperately to stave off challenges from Compass and Crocus, though the latter broke after making up a lot or ground over the last six ruiiongs.
